Quick commerce platform KiranaPro has bought Likeo, an AI-powered platform which specialises in virtual try-on technology driven with its augmented reality tech stack, in an all-stock deal.
The deal was pegged at $1 Mn (INR 8.55 Cr).
With this acquisition, Kerala-based KiranaPro seeks to integrate Likeo’s offerings with its online fashion marketplace BLACK to provide an immersive trial room experience to its customers.
The feature will be available for products across apparel, jewellery, and eyewear. KiranaPro launched its fashion marketplace which is available on the Google Play Store on May 16, 2025.
As part of the deal, Likeo’s founder and chief executive Saurav Kumar will join KiranaPro to lead the charge on AI and visual computing for its fashion marketplace.
The AI-powered trial room feature will be launched on BLACK’s platform soon with an aim to reduce the return rates on orders and improve customer satisfaction, the statement added.
“..Likeo’s tech allows us to give users a mirrorless shopping experience that’s deeply personal, fun, and frictionless. With Saurav joining us, we’re doubling down on AI and visual intelligence to redefine how GenZ discovers and shops online…” said Deepak Ravindran, founder and CEO of KiranaPro.
Founded in 2024 by Ravindra and Deepankar Sarkar, KiranaPro is a quick commerce platform that partners with local retailers and kirana stores to deliver groceries in 10-20 minutes. It connects the customers with their neighborhood kirana stores via the ONDC network with the help of its voice-based AI model.
KiranaPro is backed by the likes of TurboStart, Unpopular Ventres, Blume Ventures and Snow Leopard Ventures among others.
The development comes more than two months after the startup had announced the acquisition of hyperlocal grocery delivery service Joper.app to boost footprints across 25 cities, including Ranchi, Thane, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mysuru, Noida and Vaishali.
Founded in 2019 by Kumar Likeo is a personalised lifestyle shopping app for fast deliveries and is building virtual fitting rooms for fashion labels and brands.
Competing WIth The Q-Commerce Goliaths
In India, quick commerce is a fairly competitive space and is ruled by some of the major players such as Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy’s Instamart. In an earlier interaction with Inc42, Ravindra shared that as part of the future strategy, the startup plans to increase its userbase to 100 Mn and onboard up to 1 Mn kirana stores as part of its network.
Unlike other big players in the space, KiranaPro looks to dominate smaller cities and towns starting with Kerala. Earlier this year, the startup became India’s first ONDC-integrated platform to tap into a network of over 7 Lakh registered vendors. Currently, the startup has about 30,000 stores registered on its platform.
To further strengthen its position in the market, KiranaPro partnered with B2B management platform ZuperAI to offer AI-based retail market solutions to its users and also roped in PV Sindhu and V3 Ventures’ cofounder Arjun Vaidya as investors.
